Imaginary Friend

An imaginary friend for you
To bring you rain when you dance and drought when you don't
They offer you as a sacrifice
To an imaginary friend

He had holes in his hands and holes in his feet
He thought he died for us, but he didn't die for me
Strange how madness can behave
But you need him anyway

Everyone needs him when all is falling apart
An imaginary friend
An imaginary friend
An imaginary friend
An imaginary friend

Across the world we've fought for imaginary friends
Bathed in blood for the glory of their Almighty names
Justified so many deaths
Just political sense.
